The specific variant of the disorder analysed in this test, found in the Miniature Schnauzer, is caused by a recessive mutation to the gene AMHR2.

Clinical features
Affected male dogs are born with a partial female reproductive system: in some cases, Fallopian tubes, a uterus, and an upper vagina leading to the prostate. They also have a complete male reproductive system. However, they might present with cryptorchidism (undescended/missing testes).
